Bước chân vào thế giới giải trí sau khi chiến thắng tại cuộc thi người mẫu của tạp chí Non-No năm 1995, Koyuki là một trong những diễn viên Nhật lọt vào mắt xanh Hollywood qua bộ film đình đám The Last Samurai.
