Temari là quả bóng được thêu những họa tiết tinh xảo với màu sắc rực rỡ, là món quà ý nghĩa tượng trưng cho chữ "tình", mà ở đây hiểu rộng ra là tình yêu, tình bạn, tình mẫu tử,... là tất cả những sắc thái tình cảm giữa người với người.
Ngày xưa, Temari thường được tặng cho trẻ nhỏ vào ngày đầu năm mới. Bên dưới những lớp len, người mẹ sẽ ghi những mong muốn về tương lai của con trẻ vào một tờ giấy nhỏ rồi thêu đè lên trên, thường thì các bé sẽ không đọc được những nguyện vọng đó.

Ở Nagano, có một nghệ nhân dù đã 93 tuổi vẫn hàng ngày tạo nên những tuyệt tác mỹ lệ như thế. Từ năm 1960 đến nay, bà đã làm hơn 500 mẫu Temari, dưới đây là một vài hình ảnh được chụp lại bởi cháu gái của bà.

Ngày xưa, Temari thường được tặng cho trẻ nhỏ vào ngày đầu năm mới. Bên dưới những lớp len, người mẹ sẽ ghi những mong muốn về tương lai của con trẻ vào một tờ giấy nhỏ rồi thêu đè lên trên, thường thì các bé sẽ không đọc được những nguyện vọng đó.
