Ever since AKB48 had their big break, there has been a boom in idol groups. With so many idol groups in the industry today, Oricon recently released a ranking for the ‘most anticipated idol group’.

Last month, goo held a poll asking its users, “Which female idol group will have their big break this year?“ For this ranking, Oricon asked the same question, except with the caveat that the groups had never achieved being #1 on Oricon’s weekly single or album rankings.

Coming in first place for Oricon’s ‘most anticipated idol group’ ranking is 5-member idol group Momoiro Clover Z. The group formed back in 2008 with an average age of 16.6. They’re known for their catchy tunes and acrobatic dance moves. In August, the girls are scheduled to perform at Seibu Dome.
